With the partner organization The Nature Conservancy (TNC) and the support of the United States Forest Service (USFS), EnvPro is implementing a project called Participatory approach for the management of the Zeta River Nature Park and the development of a Communication Strategy. The main goal of the project is effective, long-term protection of the Zeta River Nature Park through cooperation and active involvement of the community, but also empowerment of interested parties, development of a five-year management plan and communication strategy.
The communication strategy is a document explaining approaches the management body of the protected area will have for reaching out to the general public about the objectives of the management plan and involve the community in the decision-making process. This is to enable the local population, young people, the private and NGO sector, experts, and others for timely, accurately, with clearl and complete information sharing on conservation issues, and to increase the understanding of the biodiversity profile of the Zeta River, in order to create the conditions for joint actions on its sustainable use. Recognizing the needs of the community is a novelty this project brings and on which it puts a strong emphasis.

The Zeta River is an European and global biodiversity hotspot whose values create a complex mosaic of interactions and connections that can provide significant benefits to the population if they are approached in a collaborative manner. This project is part of a larger project for Balkan waters, where EnvPro is already working on biomonitoring for the Rijeka Zeta Nature Park.
