Ana Katnić

One of the founders of EnvPro shares a vision of supporting diverse and resilient nature that can sustain human well-being long term. Ana encourages actions which are drivers of excellence and change in the area of nature conservation and sustainable development underpinning interdisciplinary approach, research and innovation. She values participatory and science-based decision making. Having her as an Executive director sets high aspirations to the team.

Ana has 14 years of experience in environmental affairs and her most important engagements include:

2013 – / Freelance consultant at UNFAO, UNDP, UNEP – PAP/RAC, UNESCO, WWF, University of Montenegro, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Ministry of Economy, Ministry of European affairs, Environmental Protection Agency of Montenegro, Municipality Danilovgrad, NGO Center for research and protection of birds, NGO Green Home, private consultancy companies mostly in the areas of interdisciplinary environmental research and planning, project management and evaluation.

2011 - 2012 University Donja Gorica (UDG): Lecturer on Public Participation for Protected areas and rural development postgraduate studies.

2010 - 2013 UNESCO Office in Venice - Regional Bureau for Science and Culture in Europe: National Professional Officer in charge of projects for UNESCO Man and Biosphere Reserve and World Heritage sites in Montenegro.

2008 – 2010 Smart Development Network (SNV) Balkan: Tourism and Rural Development Advisor in charge of developing and implementing projects and programmes.

2005 – 2008 National Parks of Montenegro: Public Relations, Head of Visitor Centers, Expert in flora and fauna research, NPs development programmes and international cooperation.

In 2007 Ana Katnić attained a Master’s degree in Management of Biodiversity at Uppsala University in Sweden, with her thesis topic “Vascular plants as bio-indicators of pollution in Lake Skadar”.

Mihailo Jovićević

Mihailo has 7 years of experience in ornithology and botany. He is specialized in GIS and species and habitat modeling. He is part of the main research and idea generation team in EnvPro.

His current employment and most important previous experiences are:

  • 2019 - / Consultant for United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) on establishing Marine Protected Areas in Montenegro
  • 2018 - / Researcher in cooperation with State University of New York on issues concerning bio-control of invasive mussels
  • 2013 - 2018 Teaching assistant at the University of Montenegro, advised Bachelor students in zoology of invertebrates, zoology of vertebrates, animal ecology, botany, hydrobiology and conservation biology courses
  • 2011 - 2012 Ornithologist at NGO Center for Protection and Research of Birds in Montenegro
  • 2011 - 2012 Employed for Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism of Montenegro on project “Strengthening the capacity of governments and civil sector in Serbia and in Montenegro to adapt to EU nature protection aquis”
  • 2010 - 2011 Zoologist at the Institute for Nature Conservation of Montenegro

Mihailo holds a Bachelor degree in Biology attained at the University of Montenegro and is currently pursuing a Masters degree in the same field.

Mirko Jovićević

Mirko graduated in 2011 at the Information Technology engineering at the Technical Faculty “Mihajlo Pupin” at University of Novi Sad, Serbia, after which he started his work as a Web Developer.

Nina Lončarević

For her Bachelor degree, Nina pursued Environment protection at the University of Montenegro (2014-2017), and she recently finished her Master’s studies in Landscape ecology at the University of Hohenheim in Germany. During this Master, she spent 1 year at the Swedish Agricultural University (SLU) on an Erasmus exchange, where she also finished her Master’s thesis. Her current and previous jobs and volunteering positions include:

  • January 2019 - October 2019 Intern at NGO EnvPro
  • June 2019 - September 2019 Contributor to Natura 2000 habitat mapping project for Montenegro
  • August 2018 Institute for Landscape and plant ecology, University Hohenheim - Student assistant for fieldwork on a PhD project
  • 2017 – 2018 NGO Green mind, Montenegro - Project creator
  • 2014 - 2015 NGO Association for Democratic Prosperity (ADP) – ZID, Montenegro - Volunteer manager

Dina Šabanović

Dina is pursuing a Bachelor degree in Biology at the University of Montenegro. During her studies, besides individual biology fieldwork she was part of many similar activities such as: Mapping of Bubo bubo species in Skadar lake area within Natura 2000 programme, research camp for biology students in Dravograd - volunteer in Fungi research, mapping invasive species Amorpha fruticosa at Skadar lake, practical field exercises for bird watching and ringing.

Her passion for nature protection and awareness of environmental issues is increasing through her work at EnvPro.

Jovana Đokić

Jovana Đokic graduated with a Bachelor degree in Biology at the University of Montenegro in July 2016. A part of her Bachelor education she completed in Poland at the University of Szczecin and is currently on the way to obtaining a Master degree in Ecology from the University of Vienna. She has been a volunteer of several Montenegrin NGOs dealing with ecology and environment protection and gained significant experience. Her interests are zoology, hydrobiology, biochemistry and environmental protection.

Dragana Saveljić

Dragana graduated Biology at the University of Montenegro and is currently pursuing a Masters degree in Ecology at the same University. She is involved in Natura 2000 habitat mapping project for Montenegro as a collaborator, where she was engaged in the past for desktop research. Her previous engagements include internship and volunteering at NGO Green home and volunteering in NGO Center for bird protection and research (CZIP). Her interests, outside of biology and ecology, include hiking, biking and running.

Jelena Popović

Jelena graduated Biology at the University of Montenegro and is currently pursuing a Masters degree in Ecology, a part of which she completed in Poland at the University of Szczecin. Jelena is employed in NGO Montenegrin Ecologists society as a project coordinator, and has been a volunteer and intern in this organization since 2015. She is currently involved in Natura 2000 habitat mapping project for Montenegro as a collaborator. She volunteered also in NGO Center for bird protection and research and protection (CZIP) and NGO Non-profit Organized Rescue of Avifauna (NORA) in 2014 and 2015.
