Researcher for aquatic species (Part-Time, Hybrid)

Job Description: EnvPro is looking for young researcher with background in aquatic ecology for targeted research on Adriatic sturgeon (Acipenser naccarii) and European Eel (Anguilla anguilla) in the Bojana River and wider basin. We seek an energetic, enthusiastic, and motivated person with strong analytical abilities, writing and facilitation skills as well as experience with applying both qualitative and quantitative research. The Researcher will work in Cooperation with us and a Partner NGO from Albania. Activities include: collecting information on Montenegrin side of Bojana River (desktop research and consultation), being trained within the project and following instructions of experts from PPNEA, conducting research and delivering data, comment on and editing the monitoring plan based on the findings and propose measures for conservation, as well as support the implementation of events on Montenegrin side and implementation of conservation and promotional activities.  

Qualifications: • Degree in a field related to aquatic ecology. • Experience writing research papers, action plans, and similar. • Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team. • Ability to collect, analyse and interpret data and publish results. • Communication and learning skills • English language - level proficiency Compensation: max. 2600 US$ gross in the equivalent of euros Any additional costs, such as travel, accommodation, and similar, will be separately organised and covered by the project. Working Hours and Location: The job is part-time, flexible home-office and on-site research for the equivalent of max. 20 full working days (1 day equals 8 working hours) Assignment period: from the contract signature to the end of 2024.
