EnvPro is implementing the project "Umbrella Programme to Support NBSAP Update and the 7th National Reports," in cooperation with the Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Northern Region Development.

The project focuses on two key areas: support to the National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (NBSAP) and the preparation of Montenegro's Seventh National Report under the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD).

Support to the NBSAP involves a broad consultative process with institutions, local communities, the scientific community and civil society, with particular emphasis on a gender-responsive approach to biodiversity planning and decision-making. The project will ensure greater alignment of national targets with the Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF), strengthen communication and cross-sectoral cooperation, and support the development of action plans, spatial planning guidelines and a Biodiversity Finance Plan. The updated NBSAP will be submitted to the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (SCBD).

In parallel, the project supports the preparation of Montenegro's Seventh National Report (7NR) under the Convention on Biological Diversity, including an assessment of progress toward national targets and the goals of the Global Biodiversity Framework, as well as strengthening capacities for monitoring key biodiversity indicators.

The project "Umbrella Programme to Support NBSAP Update and the 7th National Reports" is implemented by NGO EnvPro, with the financial support of the Global Environment Facility (GEF) and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). The project started on 10 June 2026 and runs until 30 May 2027.
