PhD Snežana Dragićević is a Doctor of Biological Sciences and a scientific advisor with many years of research experience in botany, with a special focus on the research of the moss flora of Montenegro. Within the Environment Programme, she provides expert and scientific support for projects in biodiversity, botany, and nature conservation through field research, taxonomic analyses, and the preparation of expert documentation.
She completed her studies in biology at the Faculty of Science at the University of Montenegro, while she completed her master's and PhD studies in botany at the Faculty of Biology at the University of Belgrade. She began her professional career as a research associate at the Department of Biology at the University of Montenegro, then worked at the Museum of Natural Sciences of Montenegro, and has recently been employed as an independent consultant at the Center for Energy and Ecology of the Montenegrin Academy of Sciences and Arts (CANU).
She is the author and co-author of numerous scientific and professional papers, including regional and international publications, as well as textbooks and workbooks for primary education. She actively participates in the work of the European Committee for Bryophyte Conservation (ECCB) by compiling the Red and Watch Lists of bryophytes in Montenegro. She is the author and a contributor to more than 20 natural science exhibitions.
Snežana is the scientist who discovered Petrolamium crnojevicii Dragićević, Vuksanović & Surina, a plant belonging to a monotypic genus in the lichen family, which grows in the southern part of Montenegro, around Cetinje.
