Sustainable Agriculture - Modern Technologies for a Herbicide-Free Future

In recent years, the use of chemical agents in agriculture, particularly herbicides, has become a growing environmental concern, impacting soil quality, water resources, and human health. At the same time, climate change and land degradation further challenge the sustainability of agricultural production and threaten the livelihoods of rural communities.

The project “Sustainable Agriculture - Application of Modern Technologies for Inter-Row Soil Cultivation to Eliminate the Use of Herbicides in Vineyards and Orchards” is implemented by EnvPro, within the regional Farm to Fork Academy program. The goal is to contribute to the development of environmentally friendly and long-term sustainable agriculture in Montenegro.

Project activities are carried out in the Municipality of Zeta, through training workshops and practical demonstrations on local farms. Farmers have the opportunity to become familiar with modern mechanization for inter-row soil cultivation, which enables the complete elimination of herbicides and contributes to preserving soil health and the environment.

The target group of the project includes farms engaged in the cultivation of perennial crops, particularly fruit growing and viticulture, as sectors that play a key role in rural development and food security.

The project supports the transition toward a sustainable and green agricultural model, in line with the principles of the European Green Deal and the Farm to Fork Strategy, promoting responsible resource use and environmental protection.

Through these activities, EnvPro continues to strengthen the resilience of local communities, support innovative agricultural approaches, and contribute to reducing the use of harmful chemicals that endanger ecosystems and human health.
